Sometimes, when I need a smile, I think back to these Nordstrom ads that were following me for weeks. Crazy expensive items that were not well-targeted. I had to take screenshots because I enjoyed them so much.
I thought you might appreciate these too.
Ad #1: Meryll Rogge Gloved Double Satin Bolero
By far, this was my favorite ad. Why the Facebook algorithms thought I would want a $740 full-length, unflattering, satin dress is beyond me, but the comments in this one were THE BEST.
Of course, I don’t remember the comment exactly but something about why a designer thought adding designer dishwasher gloves to a dress was fashion made me literally laugh out loud.
Yes, I’m still laughing as I type this. Also because those gloves remind me of crab hands.
Ad #2: Balenciaga X Vibram Toe Sock Boot
Remember back when people thought it was cool to wear socks that had individual toes? I think it was supposed to be good for your alignment or something healthy, but all it did was hurt my poor toes!
Why oh why would someone create a version of those socks into a boot? And, charge someone $1,200+? You can’t even hide your stupidity because it is the shoe!
I don’t even think I’d wear this if someone paid me $1,200. OK maybe if they paid me, but only for like an hour, max.
Ad #3: Edie Parker Shrimp Cocktail Acrylic Bag
When I first saw this, I thought it was a necklace. You go to a party and want people to know that you’re there for the cocktail shrimp. A funny conversation starter for what, maybe $30?
But then if you look closely, you’ll see it’s actually a handbag size. AND, it’s almost $1,500!
If you love cocktail shrimp enough to want to use it as a large accessory, then just think of how much edible cocktail shrimp you could buy for $1,500. Priorities people!
I 100% admit that I do not understand “high fashion” or how the fashion world works, but I do appreciate Facebook thinking that I would be into these items; otherwise, I would never have known Nordstrom sold such ridiculous items!
Plus, sometimes, a mom needs a genuine, innocent laugh too. You better believed I gave each ad a “haha” emotion.
Do you find humor in what Facebook thinks you’ll be interested in too? What do you think of these?
I hope you enjoyed this laugh today!
