This holiday season, there was a big enough drop in COVID-19 cases that I was able to visit one of my favorite places– The Hershey Hotel Spa, AKA The Chocolate Spa. OK, we were visiting Hershey, PA for the holiday festivities, Hershey Park, Chocolate World and such, BUT the Spa was a gift from my husband that I gladly accepted.
My husband and the kids didn’t mind spending a few hours at the Hershey Lodge water park and arcade so I could have some much needed alone time.
Depending on what spa services you get, it can get expensive. However, you’re paying for more than that one service, so I find it’s worth it. I’ll explain….
If you sign up for one full service (not an add-on service), you get access to:
- Full locker rooms with showers, hair dryers, towels, etc.
- Bathrobes and slippers
- Steam room
- Quiet room with little snacks (muffins, nuts, apples), hot chocolate, coffee, tea, magazines
- Whisper room
- Silent room
- Bowls of Hershey kisses
I think guests of the spa can use the Hershey Hotel gym too, but I’ve never had that extra time to try that out.
I like to check in early, change into my robe and get my stuff situated in a locker, including my cell phone. Then, I bring a book or magazine to the quiet room and sip some hot chocolate by the fire. No matter how cold it is outside, sitting by the warm fire with some treats before you get pampered is so relaxing.
Then, I’ve learned the best start to my Hershey Spa experience is with a Hershey Gardens Rose Petal soak, which is 15 minutes in one big, private spa bath. It’s an add-on (it must be paired with an additional treatment or service) and feels a bit odd at first to pay for a bath, but it’s SO relaxing.
Over the years, I’ve tried various services at the spa: pedicure, facial, prenatal massage, regular massage, women’s water ritual and reflexology treatment. All have been top-notch, relaxing and so worth it.
Plus, bookend my services with time to read, shower and relax in peace? Yes please!
The spa offers seasonal scents and packages, but I tend to always pick the rose scent since it’s so lovely and unique to Hershey, but also to keep the smells consistent between services.

The Oasis Lounge and Restaurant
This recent visit, I took time to visit The Oasis lounge and restaurant. Since it wasn’t a high volume day, the place was practically empty and there was no food service.
But, they let us grab food from the Hotel market and eat and relax there. I took my time and wrote a blog post. It was so pretty and peaceful, and then it started to snow. #magical
Typically, I believe you can pay a price for lunch and grab whatever you want from their buffet. There were also lounge rooms with couches, hot chocolate, coffee and Hershey kisses. I wish I had known about Oasis before! #fail
The spa and the Oasis both have outdoor seating or lounge areas, but I didn’t get to take advantage of either due to the cold weather.
One day, I hope to return and try a salon service or perhaps the gym first. Maybe when the kids are older and aren’t such a handful for my husband. #3against1
Overall, it was another relaxing and wonderful few hours at the Hotel Hershey Spa. If I could, I would’ve stayed hours longer, but alas, Santa was arriving at Hershey’s Chocolate World.
Have you ever been to the Hershey Hotel Spa? If so, what was your experience like? Or, if you’re not a spa person, what is your favorite way of self care? Comment below!
