As the year winds down and I’m spending more time inside and indulging in more treats than usual, I’ve been on the lookout for ways to stay healthy within my current routine. I also figure it’d help keep me from getting sick.
I noticed that a friend of mine who is also a personal trainer and avid runner was drinking Athletic Greens in the morning before breakfast. And then, because social media seems to always be listening, I started seeing ads for it everywhere. After looking into it a bit more, I decided to give it a try.
Why I decided to try Athletic Greens’ AG1
- 75 vitamins, minerals and whole food-sourced ingredients in one 8-oz. drink
- It contains probiotics and adaptogens
- No artificial colors, flavors, preservatives or sweeteners
- High-quality ingredients
- Good for a healthy gut
- Less than 1 g of sugar
- With the referral code I used, I got a free bottle of Vitamin D3+K2
- I was already drinking 8 oz. of water in the morning anyway
When purchasing, it is cheaper to buy AG1 on a subscription ($79) versus a try once ($99). But you can cancel at any time and defer your next shipment if needed, so I went with the $79 option.
While $79 does sound like a lot, it’s basically $2.63 per day for vitamins to support your healthy immune system, gut, etc. Seemed reasonable enough to me if it really helped me to feel better overall. At least to give it a try!

My Review of Athletic Greens’ AG1
At first, I did find the taste rather harsh to drink alone. But I added a splash of apple cider to make it a bit more palatable and give it an Autumn feel.
Honestly, I haven’t noticed a difference in how my body feels just yet. But mentally, I feel good knowing that I’m giving my body nutrients that it might not get otherwise. I’m still trying to eat healthily too.
The AG1 bag I received was a 30-day supply, but it has lasted longer than 30 days for me because sometimes I forget to drink it.
Also, I’m still trying to work it into my daily routine, and use up my old multivitamins, so I haven’t used it every day as instructed just yet. I do plan to work my way to drinking it daily though.
Note: the instructions say to keep AG1 in the fridge and use it within 90 days.
