Was anyone else suddenly bombarded by Facebook ads promoting a “flash sale” or “24-hour deal” for the L’ange Le Duo or L’ange Le Duo Grande 360 hair straightener and curler? With this sale, you also got two sprays and hair clips.
I saw these sponsored ads for at least a week.
I watched the videos where ladies curled their hair while explaining the features of the Le Duo, differences between the Le Duo and Le Duo Grande, how to use it and more.
The videos promised days of quick, effortless curls that wouldn’t make you overheat while styling. Hair that could look like I’m put together even on day 2 or 3 post-shower. It sounded promising.
I’ve tried curling irons, wands, curling with my hair straightener and it just doesn’t work for me. I get too hot or it takes too long to curl my very thick hair. Pretty, beachy curl hair was clearly never going to be my style.
But after watching many videos that showed consistent results, I started to feel like the L’ange Le Duo Grande might actually work for me.
Despite being skeptical, the L’ange Le Duo Grande had a 30-day return policy so I figured why not try it out? So, I went ahead and bought it… and kept my fingers crossed.
Because my hair is below my shoulders, I chose the Le Duo Grande, which is 2 inches longer than the Le Duo. That’s what the comparison videos said to do.
There was a mixup and L’ange had me pay $10 extra to get the Thermal Magique heat and humidity tamer, Salt + Sea texturizing spray and hair clips that were a part of the promotion. I could’ve returned the Le Duo Grande and then re-purchase the set but I wanted it sooner so went ahead and paid the extra shipping fee.
Alas, I finally had everything and was ready to try it out.
Per the many, many sponsored videos I watched, this was my process:
- Brush your hair
- Spray the Thermal Magique Heat and Humidity Tamer
- Brush hair again
- Section hair using the clips
- Section by section, curl your hair with the Le Duo Grande until your entire head is finished
- Spray with the Salt + Sea texturing spray
- Finger brush your curls until they look as desired
Below is a photo showing what my hair looked like as I went through the hair styling process with the Le Duo Grande.
I need to work on taking smaller sections for a better curl and my finger combing at the end could use some practice. Although this was only my second time using the L’ange Le Duo Grande, my experience was very similar to the sponsored videos I watched. My review:
- The Le Duo Grande is easy to use
- After turning on, the tool is ready to use quickly
- The outside of the Le Duo was not hot enough to burn my skin
- The air vents cool the hair as you go
- I did not get hot while curling my hair!
- The smaller the sections, the better the curl
- It really does straighten/smooth your hair as you curl
- It only took me 10-15 minutes total, which is ~30 minutes faster than if I used a curling iron
Although my curls didn’t last more than 24 hours, that could’ve been a lack of my technique. But I went to the Jonas Brothers concert that night and felt really great about my hair. MUCH better than if I tried
Although my curls didn’t last more than 24 hours, that could’ve been a lack of my technique.
With that said, I went to the Jonas Brothers concert that night and felt really great about my hair. MUCH better than if I tried to refresh my curls, and quicker than if I had to wash and dry my hair. #winning
My only negative feedback was about the Thermal Magique Heat and Humidity Tamer, which I used before the first time trying the Le Duo Grande and it wasn’t good for my hair.
The Thermal Magique spray’s first ingredient is alcohol, and it made my hair stiff and brittle. It felt more like hairspray – perhaps I got it mixed up and was supposed to use this last?
This time trying the Le Duo Grande, I used my Kerastase Oleo-Relax, which made my hair feel more natural. It had more movement and felt healthier after.
I still finished with the Salt + Sea texturing spray, but mostly because of the smell. I’m not sure if it did anything.
Note: Like my purple nails? They’re Olive and June’s plaza purple.
Overall, I’m thrilled with my Le Duo Grande, and plan to use it a lot in the future. The hair clips are also great. I’ll probably give away my Thermal Magique Heat and Humidity Tamer to my local buy nothing group. The jury is still out on the Sea + Salt texturing spray, but it does smell great!
