I love traveling. A lot of our recent travel has been to places within driving distance because… kids, sports, vacation days. I get so jealous of people jaunting through the airport with their 360-wheeled luggage as I struggle to pull mine plus bags, kids, etc. I knew one day, I’d be one of those people.
For that reason and others, I’ve been eyeing Away luggage for SO long. Away travel luggage looks so sleek, comes in great colors and has many great features that travelers could want:
- 360 degree wheels… obvi
- Carry-on size fits in overhead compartment (for most airlines)
- Built-in TSA combination lock
- Interior compression sides
- Lightweight
- Free returns
- Durable
- Hidden laundry bag
It still has the regular features you’d expect from luggage too: extended handle, straps, grab handles and more. And, some luggage (not the one I’ve bought) has a USB port for charging your phones.
For myself, I selected the “Coast” blue, Bigger Carry-On Flex. Although I don’t like checking my luggage, I wanted to have the option to expand the suitcase for trips where I need more space. The Flex gives you an additional 2.25″ of space, when needed.
Another bonus: on our most recent trip, my littlest child wanted to push my luggage, which she easily did, and I thoroughly enjoyed.
Below are photos from when I first unboxed the luggage, hence the paper and stickers still on it. It felt like I just got a new car, I was so excited!
The shade of blue changes, depending on the lighting, but overall, it’s a really nice, subtle blue. Very pretty.
The only reasons I’d use my rolling duffle bag instead of my Away luggage is 1) when I need more pockets or compartments in my luggage, and 2) if I need luggage with a softer top to fit better in our trunk for car packing logistics.
Otherwise, I’m using this everywhere!
If you’ve been eyeing Away’s luggage for years like me, I’d highly recommend treating yourself to one! Or with the holidays coming up, consider purchasing some as a holiday gift. Perhaps for someone special, as is a little pricey.

Note: I don’t get any referral points or anything from this review. I just like the luggage so much that I wanted to tell you about it.
Have you tried Away travel luggage? If so, what do you have and what do you think? Do you have other luggage you’d recommend?
