“House of Flame and Shadow” by Sarah J. Maas, book 3 from the Crescent City series, is out now! It was released January 30, 2024. I may have gone to a release party, but haven’t been able to read much during the work week. (Thanks work and kids!)
If you haven’t heard of the Crescent City series, read my post on the first two Crescent City books »
House of Flame and Shadow is 848 pages. For the foreseeable future, every free moment I have will be spent reading.
Therefore, in place of a blog post, I leave you with this image of me reading. Because this is becoming my happy place. I am SO excited Sarah J. Maas has blessed us with more of her geniusness.
Crescent City Series Books 1-3
If you’re interested in reading this series, I do suggest reading the ACOTAR series first. However, if you’re used to some romantsy books, then you can skip ACOTAR.
The books are quite large — about 800 pages each. They’re a bit intimidating! But once you get into the stories, the pages will fly by.
They do start with a lot of world building, but don’t feel like you need to memorize and fully understand all of the world for the book to make sense. Read it, comprehend as much as you can and keep going. Sarah J. Maas is so good at bringing back up important elements when needed.
Have you read the Crescent City series? What did you think? How did you like book #3? No spoilers for others please! If you have any book series you’d recommend that are similar to Crescent City, please comment below.
Thank you for reading my post.
