After sitting at a computer all day for work, do your eyes ever feel tired? There are weekends where I won’t turn on a computer to give my eyes a break. My eyes were not happy.
Around the same time, I also started hearing more about blue light glasses. About a decade ago, I bought a pair of blue light glasses to reduce computer glare. But, the glass was SO yellow and the shape was so manly that people at work made fun of my “terminator glasses.”
Guess what, I still have them:
These LOOK like computer glasses. That yellow tint! Needless to say, I never wear them.
In the last two years, I started hearing more about blue light glasses. There are so many out there now, and the styles are actually for women!
I wanted to give some a try but which ones? And, would they work? I already owned a pair and never wore them.
I’ve posted a few times about my Jilly Box experience, but the Fall 2021 box contained some “Jilly pink” Poppy & Peonies blue light glasses.
At first, I thought the pink was over-the-top silly and then I realized that silly is FUN. What’s wrong with making myself smile every time I wear them? My kids’ favorite color is pink; would these score me “cool mom” points?
So, I bought a pair.
And, I LOVE THEM! The kids do too (yay)!
They don’t have a yellow tint! In fact, there have been multiple people who’ve complimented my new glasses without realizing they were computer glasses. #winning
These Poppy & Peonies glasses feel feminine, light weight and after hours staring at a computer screen, I definitely notice a difference. Plus, the compliments are nice too!
I’m so glad I tried a new pair. I wear these glasses daily, and they continue to make me smile as anticipated.

Blue Light UV Blocking Screen Protectors
On a related note, I’ve also recently purchased a blue light blocking screen protector for my home computer monitor to reduce screen glare and UV rays. I don’t want skin damage from my computer! (This is a real thing!)
It felt indulgent at first due to the cost, but now I know they are WORTH IT.
For the hours I spend looking at my monitors every day, the blue light glasses and the blue light blocking screen protectors have helped reduce the strain on my eyes significantly and give me peace of mind if I forget to put sunscreen on my face that morning.
Do you have blue light glasses to wear when on the computer? Have you found them helpful or not really? Have you heard of computer monitors emitting UV light? Comment below, I’d love to hear your experience.
