Is anyone else a big fan of Outlander? One side of my family lineage goes back to Scotland, so when I saw Weebox was doing an Outlander-themed subscription box, I figured that was two good reasons to try it. Why not, right?
I typically ignore the subscription box ads because I don’t want to spend money on products I don’t want or need. Judging by how many subscription boxes are out there, many people like subscription boxes, but I’d rather just go buy the products I want instead of feeling like I’m wasting money.
But the WeeBox felt different. I wouldn’t even know what to look for or where to get a little taste of Scotland. Especially during this droughtlander, the time just felt right to give it a try.
Unfortunately, my purple Weebox arrived a bit crushed. It was inside of a half-opened purple bag. Luckily, the products were intact (for the most part).
Inside, the contents were wrapped in Scottish newspaper, which I thought was a fun touch. One item was bubble wrapped. Despite the box’s appearance, the gifts were in good shape.
So, what were the “five bonnie gifts and treats” inside of the May 2021 Outlander Weebox? Drumroll please….
Items in the Outlander Weebox subscription box
- Dinnae Fash canvas tote bag. “Dinnae Fash” means “Don’t Worry.” The saying ties back to Outlander but also is a nice reminder, especially right now as the pandemic continues to give us moms plenty of reason to worry!
- Cranachan Creams. There are six cookies… err… biscuits, in the box. My box was crushed but the biscuits were not. I’m finishing up Whole30 right now, but look forward to trying these out as soon as I can! They’re biscuits with raspberry jam and buttercream filling. Yum! They have no artificial flavors or hydrogenated fats, which I appreciate!
- Standing Stones pewter pendant necklace. Of course an Outlander box would have something to represent the stones! I’m not sure what to do with this since it’s not really my style, but I appreciate the sentiment. The back of the packaging explains the symbols and its meaning of stability and harmony.
- Mo Nighean Donn (My Brown-Haired Lass) diffuser. This scent is so lovely! What a cool idea to include a scent of Scotland! And, I can enjoy it for a few weeks and then it goes into the recycling bin. Reduce clutter.
- Wine glass charm. A little charm to go around your wine glass stem. It has a Clan Fraser tartan attached as well as a lucky sixpence replica and a “gem stone.” I don’t really drink so I can’t imagine using it, but it’s a really nice touch to round out the Outlander box.
The box itself cost about $56, including shipping. I do feel like the products themselves aren’t worth that much value to me since I only really think I’ll use 3 of the 5 products; however, the fun experience of opening and going through the box details made it worth it.
You can tell that Weebox put a lot of thought and effort into the box. Even the printed card with product details was personalized! I will certainly use and appreciate these items more than I would have with a makeup subscription box!
Once the coronavirus pandemic has passed, Scotland is high on my list of places to travel to in the future. This was a nice treat for myself and I could definitely see buying another box in the future.

Unfortunately, I haven’t seen a coupon code for Weebox, but if I come across one, I’ll post the code here. They don’t have a referral code either, but if you read this and want to purchase, email them and let them know I referred you and then we both get a free gift!
Note that when you order a box, they put you on an automatic subscription plan for future boxes. I canceled mine right away so I could see what the box held before purchasing another.
Have you purchased either the Weebox or another location-specific subscription box? Why or why not? If so, what are your thoughts on the box you received?

I received my Weebox yesterday. I live in Texas, so it took 26 days to get to my home from Scotland. I enjoyed going through my first Weebox. I absolutely love the diffuser fragrance, and would love to know how to purchase more. The pewter necklace was lovely. The biscuits are wonderful. I was afraid they would be too hard and the filling too sweet, but they were not; what a lovely surprise! The canvas bag and wine charm were sweet. I also felt that $56 was a bit much for the items, but I will continue one more month hoping that the next box is worth the money.

Yes! What a great idea! They should have a shop online where we can purchase the items again if we liked them. I agree that the cost was more than the items, but the charm and surprise made up for that cost difference. We paid for the experience too. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on the box too!

Hello there! Nice review! I actually was searching for the company that makes the diffuser and that’s how I found your blog … however, it took some serious squinting on the bottom of the bottle to find Shearer Candles make it. I contacted them through Facebook yesterday. It turns out that the WeeBox diffuser is their Woodland Frost scent. They were incredibly nice. I ordered yesterday and I’m happy to report back when I receive it, but here’s the link!shearer-candles com/en/scented-candles/woodland-frost

Fingers crossed it’s a win!

That’s great! I’m glad you were able to find something you love from one of those boxes too! It does smell really nice in my house still, weeks later 🙂

Thanks for the review and pictures! Let us all know if you travel to Scotland and your suggestions! So, yes or no on the weebox or a particular one you can order separately?

I’m glad you found it helpful! I am glad I tried the Weebox because it was a fun surprise and different from what I regularly buy, but I don’t think I’d want to get them regularly just due to cost and the other things I mention in the post. I don’t know of any others you can order one-time, but it was easy to cancel after I got my first box.
