While everyone else is taking time to reflect on 2023, I figured I’d join in the fun.
Sometimes life moves so fast that it can feel like there is no time to accomplish anything. Or, the year is so long, it’s hard to remember what you did a few months ago let alone 12!
The purpose of this blog is to try new things, and share what works for me in case it might help you too. I’ve tried out a number of products or attempted to try new things that completely failed; I don’t typically document those since they aren’t received well.
But, this is my attempt to look back over the year.
What am I still using? What have I tried and posted about that I actually do use — it’s not just for the sake of the post!
In the spirit of reflection, in 2023, I:
- Exercised 336 days, including active rest days (yoga, 8,000+ steps, etc.).
- Read ~76 books, assuming I remembered to add all of them to GoodReads. This includes those on audiobook.
- Regularly took epsom salt baths as a part of my nighttime routine.
- Got in a good handful of massages or facials, as a part of my self-care.
- Continued to use Olive & June nail polish regularly, it helps me feel more put together even when I’m in yoga pants.
- Ran a Disney 5K through Epcot!
- Use Dime Beauty face products every morning and evening
- Eat Oats Overnight for breakfast almost daily
Things I’ve recently blogged about that I still use regularly:
- Order from Thrive Market, including Aloha bars
- Cookie Dough Puffs Built bars
- Peloton workouts on my Echelon Bike
- LUS shampoo, conditioner and curl cream
- L’ange Le Duo Grande
- Photo Shuffle iPhone Feature
- Products to make Soccer Mom life easier
- Each & Every Natural Deodorant
- Lumineux Teeth Whitening Pen
- Athletic Greens, daily using the d3+k2 drops
I am thankful for Libby (free audiobooks from my library), and a friend who shares her Peloton account with me (yay for free workouts).
You may have noticed that my blog has moved more to self-care and books. I’m trying to better myself, my health and my mind so that I can be a better mom, wife, friend and worker. But in this season of life, I’m drowning in to-dos.
In 2024, I plan to:
- Continue to try new things, and post what I recommend. I’ve found when I give even slightly negative reviews, people don’t want to hear it!
- Strengthen my personal boundaries.
- Stay away from negative people and situations.
- Take care of myself in ways that restore my body and mind.
I hope your 2023 was full of love, adventure and good memories. Wishing you nothing but the best for 2024.
If you had any accomplishments you want to document, feel free to post them below. Or, share them with your friends and family. Shout your accomplishments from the rooftop! You deserve to celebrate you!
