With summer ending, is anyone else mentally preparing to be standing on the sidelines of any sports field for every weekend for the foreseeable future? I’m a soccer mom (woot woot)!
Over the years, I’ve been copying other soccer spectators who seem to have their shiz together. Whether you buy these specific products or something like them, I hope they help make your mom life easier.
Helping You Keep Cool
Right now, it is HOT outside. And depending on the field, you might be in bright sun for hours. The parents have been using a pop-up canopy, large umbrellas and even umbrellas that clip onto chairs to help create shade. The players also appreciate a canopy or umbrella on the sidelines too!

SPF 50+ Adjustable Umbrella with Clamp (clips onto camping chair)
To Help Carry All The Things
Sometimes you need help carrying soccer bags, water jugs, canopy, backpacks, chairs, snacks, keys and more. Walks from the car to the field can be far, and uphill both ways!
Depending on the temperature, I’ve had to throw my phone in the cooler pack when it overheats.
Additional Things
It is rare that a sports field has a bench for their players, so we always bring our own. Plus, a quick-dry shirt in your team’s color and a rocker camping chair can help make your spectating a little more comfortable.
For Colder Weather
Somehow, the frigid cold and blistering wind days seem to come out of nowhere. I buy the HotHands in bulk and make sure to bring some hot chocolate, tea or coffee. I’ve started seeing the WeatherPods more and more, but haven’t taken the plunge yet. Maybe this is the year! They seem SO perfect for the rainy and super windy days.
Are you also living on sports fields for weekends at a time? If so, what do you find helpful? Is anything up above one of your staple items to bring too? Comment below, I’d love to hear what helps you!
Thanks for reading.
