If you suffer from bad headaches or migraines like I do, you’ve likely tried a variety of options to help stop an oncoming migraine or find fast relief. I hate taking medicine as my default, and loved that the TheraICE RX migraine relief hat was re-usable and easy to use so I bought one.
I literally bought the TheraICE RX migraine relief hat last December but forgot about it until recently. But when I woke in the middle of the night with a bad headache, I ripped open the package, found the notch for the nose and stuck it on my head.
I was desperate and hoping for relief – I found it.
Without reading the instructions or cooling or heating it up ahead of time, I figured it out and IT WORKED! I was SO GRATEFUL for this hat!
Despite just taking it out of the packaging, its immediate cooling effect combined with the pressure from the hat helped my head feel more in control of my migraine.
The migraine still lasted for a bit, but my relief was strong enough that I laid in bed wishing I had tried it sooner!
I’ve used it a few times since then. Each time, I’ve had the same migraine relief experience.
My thoughts on the TheraICE RX hat:
- The TheraICE hat sits comfortably around your head (not too tight).
- The notch for your nose is deep enough that the hat blocks out light.
- Each time I’ve used it, the TheraICE RX hat has a cooling effect on my head, without having put it in the fridge. (Is my house that cold?)
- The TheraICE RX hat can be put in the freezer or heat up, depending on what you need to feel better.
- If needed, I could walk around with the hat around my forehead to keep the pressure but take care of the kids.
- The hat isn’t adjustable because there’s no velcro but it’s stretchy enough that I can see why they say it fits most heads.
- The amount of pressure on my head that the hat provides was just right.
- As I changed position in bed, the hat stayed put.
At the very least, the hat replaces laying on the cold bathroom floor and is significantly more comfortable.
The one negative part is its slight smell, but my pain was stronger than the smell. Since the TheraICE is supposed to be kept in the provided bag (I did eventually read the instructions), I don’t see the smell dissipating in the near future. I assume the smell is from the gel inside the hat.
Am I glad I bought the TheraICE RX hat?
Yes, absolutely. As stated previously, I wish I had bought it sooner.
If you get migraines, I highly recommend it. Buy it now so you have it at your house when you need it! And, we’re near the holidays so it’s bound to be on sale.
While the TheraICE RX hat is not a miracle worker (you can’t wear it for five minutes and your migraine is gone). However, it significantly helped reduce my migraine pain without taking more medicine, which is a win in my book.
The TheraICE RX hat is now in my migraine relief arsenal, in addition to my motrin, dark room, salt, sleep, etc.
